Psychosis - Medical terms

Psychosis is a condition that affects the way your brain processes information. It causes you to lose touch with reality. You might see, hear, or believe things that aren’t real. Psychosis is a symptom, not an illness. A mental or physical illness, substance abuse, or extreme stress or trauma can cause it.

I've been watching the Apple TV+ series - The Me You Can't See - and found out so much about mental health that is so common and affecting many people. I think it's a good production as they invited famous people (who people normally follow/know) to open up these topics and educate us, letting people know it matters.

Orbital Floor Reconstruction Surgery - Medical terms

Thanks to the Internet. When doctors don't speak much in Germany, we have to ask the Internet (then ask the doctors). Basically, it is a fracture happened at the floor of eye socket. The serious part is that the floor fracture might cause the eyeball dropped inside the deformed floor and cause some serious problem like losing of eyesight. The reconstruction surgery mainly opens up the part below the eye, then inserts a Titanium mesh (or some other material) and screws it to hold up the original shape. Yes, unfortunately the material will have to stay there forever. TLDR;

• There are different material that can be chosen. e.g. Titanium mesh etc. There are risks of using Titanium mesh as scars might be built up around it and it can cause problem like double vision etc.
• There are different methods that can be chosen. e.g. through the widely open eye, or incision through the skin. Ouch.

Gemini - Text for The Internet

Gemini is a new application-level internet protocol for the distribution of arbitrary files, with some special consideration for serving a lightweight hypertext format which facilitates linking between files.

Rob mentioned about having his recipe recorded on some simple text , and he mentioned he was trying Gemini. It immediately caught my attention. As what he mentioned the web these days are cluttered with ads and often the key content are always neglected, e.g. recipe sites. It's kind of a pain in the x to even read from the websites these days. I would not say other things are unnecessary on the Internet, but simple things should be kept simple. That's about right.

Coop or Co-operative - A different company

A cooperative (also known as co-operative, co-op, or coop) is "an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned enterprise". Cooperatives are democratically owned by their members, with each member having one vote in electing the board of directors.

I just learned about the membership of Housing Coop/Greenpeace Energy Coop here in Berlin - I decided to find out more about it. It's a pretty cool idea, I like how a company is sort of driven by the people who are part of, or themselves working in the company. In this way, it might have lesser control for that one top person, and it encourages collaboration (putting money together) for something they are working on.
